Memoir Project For Seniors - Taking expressions of interest for January Program
Over their lifetime, seniors experience history-making moments and collect untold memories. These memories often serve as the keepsakes of important family traditions, as well as a record of important moments in their community. The memoir project will be one way for seniors to gain skills in preserving these memories. The Adult Learning Centre may be offering this free program for seniors (aged 60 years and older) in January 2012.
Seniors who participate in the memoir project are introduced to a variety of writing styles such as journal writing, story development, poetry, writing from memory, and more. Guest writers will bring writing forms to life through readings of their work, and insightful suggestions for writing development. This is the ideal opportunity for seniors of all literacy levels who have always wanted to experience the joy of writing. No writing experience is required, and all supplies will be provided. If you are interested in being part of a seniors memoir project please contact Gabriel at the Adult Learning Centre at 250-338-9906.
